Save the Date!

I’ll be giving a talk on March 4 to the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society. The talk will begin at 7 pm in Gates Hall 4107 Lake Rd, just west of the intersection with Lake Ave going south. Built in 1826, it has long served the community, originally as a non-denominational church, and later as a community gathering place and theater.  

Just down the road is Lakeview Cemetery next to the Cornwall hiking preserve.  Lakeview not only records the history of the community on its headstones, it is alive with the stories of its inhabitants and serves as a museum of area cemetery design. I love going there in the winter when it shares its peaceful surroundings with the neibhorhood animals.
